Talk with Nutritional Therapist

We are delighted to announce the next of our evening talks will be by WTC member, Gabrielle Looney, and she will be accompanied by Grainne, both of whom are qualified Nutritional Therapists. They will focus on : - Weaning and fussy eating - Minor conditions such as eczema, constipation and allergies - How and when to introduce new foods, nuts etc - What benefits different foods can bring - Salt and sugar in diet Tickets will be £5 each and will include a glass of wine, all proceeds from the evening will got to Tamba's Helping Hands appeal. Tea and coffee can be bought at Crafted throughout the evening. The Helping Hands project aims to provide practical support in the home to families with Twins, Triplets or More that are in severe difficulty. This difficulty could have occurred as a result of parental bereavement, medical conditions, severe post natal depression, or very serious behavioural problems.

WTC Playgroup - Balham

Come along to our playgroup in a lovely, warm church hall. There's toys for all ages and lots of space for the little ones to run/crawl/toddle around in. There's a hot cuppa for the adults and snacks for the children and we'll have a little sing-a-long too. There are parking spaces outside the church but it's permits only between 10&12 and you can only pay to park for an hour at a time. There are bus routes which stop nearby and it's a 10 ish minute walk from Balham station.

WTC Babies & Toddlers Playgroup

Our babies and toddlers playgroup is in a clean, carpeted, large room with comfy chairs for the adults and toys and mats for the little ones. We have exclusive use of this area and there's a cafe where you can buy lattes and cake and it's free to attend. There's parking on the surrounding roads and it's a short walk from Wamdsworth Common train station, and the nearby bus stops are served by the 219, 329, 690 and G1 buses. There will always be a member of the committee there to welcome you so do come along and chat to other twin mum's who know exactly what you're going through!

Come along to our brand new playgroup in a lovely, warm church hall. There'll be toys for children of all ages, and a hot cup of tea for the adults plus snacks for the children. We're running this on a trial basis, and until further notice, we're delighted to offer this for free to our members. There's parking on the roads around the church (unfortunately you have to pay to park tweet 10&12 and then it's only for an hour)  but there are bus routes which stop nearby and it's a 10 (ish?!) minute walk from Balham tube and train station. This is the last playgroup before the Easter break.

Come along and have dinner or a glass of wine or 2 with your fellow twin mums on Tuesday 22nd March at the Dog and Fox in Wimbledon village from 7.30 til late. It's a great excuse to get out the house and chat to other mums who know exactly what you're going through, without having to stop a conversation beacause a little one needs your attention! If you don't know anyone, please don't think you can't come along, it's very relaxed and we're all very friendly so hope to see lots of you there.

We have exclusive use of this space and it's free for members and there's a cafe where you can buy teas and coffees. There's free parking on the surrounding roads and it's a short walk from Wandsworth Common train station. The nearby bus stops are served by the 219, 329, 690 and G1 buses. There will always be a member of the committee there to welcome you, so please come along and meet other twin mums there. This is the last playgroup before the Easter break, we will miss 2 weeks and be back on April 12th.

WTC Easter Family Party and Egg Hunt

Saturday 19 March 3.30-5.30pm will be WTC’s first Easter Party!    Held at Naturescope on Wandsworth Common (just behind Skylark Cafe), we will have different crafts and games plus the all important Easter Egg Hunt – hopefully outdoors weather permitting!  It’s bring-your-own tea, but there will be chocolaty treats for the children, plus tea, coffee and hot cross buns for the grown ups.  And we hope to get a visit from a certain special rabbit before the day is out!   Tickets will be £5 per family – available now via Tidyclub

First Aid Course

The First Aid courses are excellent value for money and are always held locally in another WTC member's house.  We have a maximum of 8 people for each course and plenty of time to cover the topics/ deal with any queries you may have. The course lasts for approximately 2.5 hours. The topics covered are - Resuscitation Baby and child choking Baby and child fits/ febrile convulsions Burns and scalds Injury - finger amputation, spinal injury Minor illnesses: temperatures, diarrhoea and vomiting, croup There will be an opportunity to practise practical elements and you will also receive a handout to take away for future reference.  Costs are £35 per head. Please note that we need a minimum of 5 people to run each event and because of the costs that the WTC is incurring, we unfortunately cannot refund any places once booked. PLEASE NOTE  : This course is all sold out but there will be more coming up soon.

Talk with Fitness Expert - Jane Wake

When it comes to twins or more, the idea of trying to get in some exercise when you are a new Mum is probably the last thing on your mind! Jane Wake, expert in pre and post natal exercise has trained many a twin mum and knows, not only just what you should be doing but also how. She will in particular discuss the issue of Diastasis of the Rectii which is a major concern for many twin mums and focus on the right exercise to help with your core strength, tummy tone and back health. Tickets are £2 each and this includes a glass of wine.
