Easter Family Party

There'll be an egg hunt, crafts, sports races, a lovely outdoor playground - and for the younger ones soft mats and toys and the lovely Lily from playgroup will be coming to do singing and bubbles. There will also be our first ever Easter Bonnet Competition with prizes and we should have a visit from a certain Seasonal Rabbit!!!!   It's BYO tea for the kids but of course there will be plenty of chocolate and refreshments will be provided for the adults too. Tickets are £5 per family and are on sale NOW, so don't delay - we look forward to seeing you there!

WTC- Twins Sleep & Routine Workshop
CraftedLondon, Entrance on Granville Road, St Michael Church, SW18 5TT

A friendly and informal workshop giving you the opportunity to learn all the basics of baby sleep for your little ones. The workshop is run by Heidi Skudder (The Parent and Baby Coach), a local Sleep Consultant and will cover the following areas: -Baby Sleep Cycles -The Science of Sleep -How much Sleep your babies should be having -Routines for Babies ages 0-12 months -Establishing Day time sleeps -Setting up good sleep habits -Dropping Night Feeds -Problem Sleep Associations -Sleep Training Methods – Which ones to use and when? The workshop runs for around 1.5 hours and at the end you will come away with a Sleep Plan of your own to implement plus a week of email support from Heidi to help you along the way. Parents of twins ages 0-12 months are welcome, or expectant parents if you would like to know how to set up good habits from the very word go! Tickets are £28 each and are strictly on a first come first served basis and please note, we need a minimum of 10 people in order for this to go ahead.  Feedback from WTC members who attended previous courses : " I thought it was brilliant. Heidi was really knowledgeable without being too opinionated or judgemental. She gave us the confidence really to understand what to do and why." "The workshop was excellent, Heidi is fantastic and has given us the confidence we needed to give some proper sleep training a go"

Playgroup- Babies

Come along to the babies and crawlers playgroup at it's new time and place. We'll be at Cafe 207 but in the lounge area in a separate building. It's in a lovely warm room and there'll be mats and toys for the babies. The Cafe will be open serving lattes and snacks for you to buy. To access the lounge, you go down the side of the main building (outside) and go round the corner into the building ahead of you and we're in the first room you get to. There's parking on the roads off Trinity Road and it's a short walk from Wandsworth Common train station.  We look forward to seeing lots of you there. Please note : This is the last playgroup before the Easter break.

Girls Night Out
Tooting Bec - Imperial Durbar, 14 Trinity Road, SW17 7RE

The next Girls Night Out of 2017 will be in Tooting Bec on Wednesday 29th March at the Imperial Durbar, 14 Trinity Road, SW17 7RE.  Come along to meet other mums and share the joys and challenges of parenting multiples (or just have a natter!).  The Imperial Durbar does a great selection of 'Coffees, Chais, Beers & Cocktails' and then we order in a curry from the place next door.  If you don't know anyone, please don't think you can't come along, it's very relaxed and we're all very friendly so hope to see you there! PLEASE NOTE : Please get a ticket when you receive an invite via email, you don't have to pay but it's just so we can get an idea of numbers in order to book a table. Can't make it this month?  Our next GNO will be on Thursday 27th April in Earlsfield.

Come along to our playgroup in a lovely, big church hall. There's toys for all ages and lots of space for the little ones to run/crawl/toddle around in. There's a hot cuppa for the adults and snacks for the children and we'll have a little sing-a-long too. Playgroup is free to attend but when we have Lily there doing the singing then we ask for a voluntary contribution to help pay for this.  There are parking spaces outside the church but it's permits only between 10&12 and you can only pay to park for an hour at a time. There are spaces round the corner on Atkins Road where you can park for longer. There are bus routes which stop nearby and it's a 10 ish minute walk from Balham station. Please note : To gain entry, please press the buzzer for 'Church' and one of us will let you in. Also, if your little ones are older and not sleeping, the church would prefer it if you left your buggy outside in the buggy park.

First Aid Course

The First Aid courses are excellent value for money and are always held locally in another WTC member's house.  We have a maximum of 8 people for each course and plenty of time to cover the topics/ deal with any queries you may have. The course lasts for approximately 2.5 hours. The topics covered are - Resuscitation Baby and child choking Baby and child fits/ febrile convulsions Burns and scalds Injury - finger amputation, spinal injury Minor illnesses: temperatures, diarrhoea and vomiting, croup There will be an opportunity to practise practical elements and you will also receive a handout to take away for future reference.  Costs are £35 per head. Please note that we require a minimum of 5 people to run each event.

Talk - Supporting your child in learning to read

We are very excited to announce the details of our talk by Tara Coffin, fellow twin mum and a Deputy Head in a primary school.  The workshop will be about supporting your child in learning how to read.  It will cover:  Pre-reading skills Phonics High frequency words  Comprehension  Reading with your child (learn how to do it like a teacher would) Making reading fun There will be lots of sharing of tips, resources and chances to ask questions.  This is best suited to parents of children (twins or singletons) aged 3-7 years old.  We will be in the upstairs room of the pub. There is plenty of parking outside and it's a short walk from Earlsfield station, and is by Flip Out which you may have been to with your twins! Please note, the pub doesn't serve food.  Thanks to the generosity of Tara and the landlord of the pub, all profits made from this talk will go to the Ickle Pickles charity ( www.icklepickles.org ) a local charity that buys specialised equipment to help Neo-natal units provide incredible levels of care to premature and sick babies.

Come along and meet other mums of multiples and grab a coffee. We especially want to welcome new mums, to show it is possible to get out and about but obviously everyone is welcome, the more the merrier! There's plenty of space for double buggies, and it's a nice relaxed setting, with plenty of sofas and space for any crawlers to explore a bit too! Look forward to seeing lots of you there

Talk by Kathryn Mewes

We are very excited to share details of the workshop which Kathryn Mewes will be hosting for our members. Kathryn is the star of 'The 3 Day Nanny' on Channel 4 and she has worked with many twin families from the club to help bring about changes in their family life in 3 days. She supports parents who are feeling challenged by their children and helps to instil confidence in parents. The topics she will be covering are : Challenging behaviour with twins  Bedtimes - cot to bed! Basic steps when potty training x2! We will be in the upstairs room of The Alma pub, which will be open from 19.30. There is parking outside and the pub is directly opposite Wandsworth Town train station. The food is very good in the pub, be sure to get there early so you can grab a bite in the downstairs bar if you want to as we will be starting at 8pm prompt. Please note : Tickets are on a first come, first served basis and we have to limit it to 2 per family and is only open to members of the club.
